Sydney Water thanks customers for their patience following the recent water main break in the Lane Cove area.

\r\n

Sydney Water’s Manager Director Roch Cheroux has again apologised for the inconvenience and confirmed impacted customers will be offered financial assistance.

\r\n

“We deeply apologise to the community and would like to offer assistance to impacted customers via a $200 credit on their next water bill. 

\r\n

“This financial assistance acknowledges the inconvenience and disruption this water main break has caused,” said Mr Cheroux. 

\r\n

Impacted customers will be eligible for Sydney Water’s $40 unplanned water service rebate, which will be applied to their next quarterly bill.

\r\n

In addition, customers will be credited $160 in fixed service charges on their next quarterly account. 

\r\n

Sydney Water is making this offer as a gesture of goodwill to acknowledge the unique nature of this outage, which affected customers for longer than expected due to the complexity and location of the main break. 

\r\n

Sydney Water crews have now restored the system to normal supply following a water main break at Epping Road, Lane Cove.

Water pressure has increased overnight to normal levels across all suburbs.

\n

We are encouraging any customers who may still be having supply issues to call 13 20 90.

Sydney Water crews are continuing to restore the system to normal operation following a water main break at Epping Road, Lane Cove.

\r\n

Water pressures are continuing to increase across a number of suburbs as we progress through these operations.

\r\n

We will continue to methodically work through our plan tonight to restore the system to normal operation as soon as possible.

\r\n

Some customers may experience further interruptions to their water supply through the night including no or low water pressure.

\r\n

Sydney Water has organised access to shower facilities for impacted customers through Accor Hotels while we continue to work to restore our services to full capacity.

Water refill stations are also available for customers to fill containers with water at three locations in Lane Cove West and North Sydney. Water tankers have also been operating around the clock to supply safe drinking water to impacted customers.

Sydney Water crews are continuing to work around the clock to return normal water supply as soon as possible. We appreciate your continued patience and apologise for the significant inconvenience caused.

Due to the complexity and location of the break, there may be ongoing interruptions to water supply across a number of suburbs. Customers in Lane Cove and Longueville are expected to be impacted with low or no pressure throughout the day. 

\r\n

Showers are now available to impacted customers while we continue to work to restore services to full capacity.

\r\n
For residents who have no water service please call the Sydney Water Customer Hub on 13 20 90 to discuss options for showers.

We understand there has been a delay in rectifying the issue, but we are committed to finding a solution as quickly as we can in order to restore services to impacted properties.

Sydney Water crews are onsite at Mowbray Road, Lane Cove where a new break in the water main has been identified.

\r\n

Up to 315 properties in the Lane Cove area will experience a loss of water until 7:30pm, 13 September 2022, while Sydney Water crews repair the water main.

\r\n

There may continue to be further interruptions to water supply across a number of suburbs.

Customers in Lane Cove and Longueville are expected to be impacted with no or low water pressure throughout the morning.

\r\n

We will continue to adjust and respond as best we can until we can return the system to normal operations later today.

Sydney Water crews will continue working through the night as they respond to a burst water main at Epping Road, Lane Cove.

\r\n

Some customers may notice lower water pressure than normal and possibly no water during peak times. In order to manage the issue, we would ask that you restrict your water usage by avoiding non-essential water use.

\r\n

Sydney Water has set up a number of filling stations where our customers can access drinking water and fill up their containers.

\r\n

We appreciate your assistance and apologise for the inconvenience.

Sydney Water crews are onsite at Epping Rd, Lane Cove where a break in the water main has been identified.

Network technicians are working to isolate the main which is taking some time due to the location and complexity of the break.

\r\n

Crews have worked through the night to restore water to a number of customers in the Lane Cove area in the vicinity of Fitzsimmons Avenue and Margaret Place.

Up to 2,000 businesses and residents have experienced a loss of water, low or lower than normal pressure during this time, including customers in:
